Global Teacher was an amazing program that was incredibly well organised. Full support was offered in the lead up and during the trip to ensure a smooth program. The Thai program was hosted at the amazing EcoLogic Thailand which supports the phenomenal Thai Child Development Foundation. The hospitality was astounding. The schools we worked at were warm and welcoming. The children and teachers alike enjoyed the mutual learning experience. Delivering the workshops to local teachers was also a highlight. Working alongside local English teachers in Labuan Bajo was a privilege and incredibly fulfilling, as was interacting with the keen, appreciative students, learning about cultural sensitivities and traditions.

Global Teacher Komodo was a deeply humbling and rewarding experience. I was lucky enough to share this with a fantastic group of passionate, fun and generous teachers who are committed to personal development and making a genuine difference. Many friendships and bonds were made, making this trip very special. Schools were so welcoming and supportive. Working alongside local English teachers in Labuan Bajo was a privilege and incredibly fulfilling, as was interacting with the keen, appreciative students, learning about cultural sensitivities and traditions. Our professional development workshops were very well received and I loved sharing "Mindfulness and Wellbeing" with my partner teacher. The cultural excursions were outstanding, from visiting Komodo National Park to spending the night on a traditional boat enjoying snorkelling, trekking Padar Island, and sailing around stunning scenery. Thanks to Mike, Nathan and Nefi for their sterling efforts to support us throughout. I can't recommend this program highly enough for any educator who loves travelling and connecting with culture.

Through this program I did not only teach the students, but they taught me. The Balinese are some of the most welcoming, caring and kind people and you could really feel this within the school and in the community.

I can't thank Global Teachers enough for giving me this immersive experience and putting it into words is hard as it exceeded my expectations. This enriching experience was not only felt in the classroom but on the excursions where we got to enjoy the beauty of Bali and engage in some cultural activities including: waterfalls, dolphin tour, snorkeling, Bengkala village, basket weaving and a tour of the monkey forest. She was simply amazing throughout the entire trip, consistently going above and beyond to provide personal care and support to every team member. Claire’s dedication, compassion, and exceptional leadership created a positive and inclusive environment that made our work more effective and enjoyable. Her attention to detail and genuine concern for our wellbeing ensured that we could focus fully on our teaching responsibilities while feeling supported every step of the way. Claire’s ability to manage challenges with grace and positivity made a significant difference to the success of our trip. Overall, this teaching trip was a wonderful opportunity for professional growth and cultural exchange, greatly enhanced by Claire's outstanding leadership. We have already decided on our next trip and have eqcruited two more collegues- bring on Thailand 2028

I had the joy of attending a global teacher trip in April 2024 to Lovina, Bali. Lovina is a beautiful destination! While it takes a bit of a drive to get there, it’s absolutely worth the journey.The accommodation was fantastic, and the food was equally impressive. The atmosphere was friendly and collegial, making the entire trip enjoyable. Being in the classroom was a delight, and it was fantastic to share skills with others. The professional development session was well-attended, and the teachers were incredibly appreciative. The experience was truly amazing, with everything well-organised before, during, and after the experience. Mike provided excellent support throughout the entire experience. Overall, it was a highly fulfilling and memorable experience.I would definitely recommend it to others!

Loved every minute of it! The opportunity to present PD to local teachers in Indonesia was also a very rewarding experience that wouldn’t have been possible without Global Teacher!

What an amazing 9 days I experienced teaching and learning in Lovina. Though I’d done a lot of overseas travel, I’d always avoided Bali because I didn’t want to be another Australian being a tourist in Bali. I wanted an immersive experience, and Global Teacher was perfect. I feel so privileged to have been invited to teach in the schools, and get to know Bali a different way. It’s an approach I haven’t seen offered by other teacher tours. Right from the application process, the Global Teacher team was responsive, helpful, and thoughtful. The staff at the school we visited were very welcoming and accommodating, as were the students. It was lovely to be able to share ideas and skills with each other. Being able to manage a classroom with limited resources is a skill to be respected.

We had an awesome time, discovered many differences and similarities between our educational systems and learned about our own priorities. Our team leader was an amazing person who knew the language and culture of the Philippines, thus enhancing our trip. Her knowledge of Filippino food was second to none and she shared this knowledge with our team, thoroughly immersing us in the experience. We shared many delicious feasts during our stay in the Philippines (but I do not need to eat sisig again!) She was very supportive when some of our group became ill, finding solutions to make us well again. I am not sure when she managed to sleep! The staff at the school we visited were very welcoming and accommodating, as were the students. It was lovely to be able to share ideas and skills with each other. Being able to manage a classroom with limited resources is a skill to be respected. We all enjoyed the social events with the students and staff, learning about their lives and priorities prompts a rethink of our own lifestyle and the things that are important to us. Our accommodation in Manila and in Cebu was lovely with staff that bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. A trip of a lifetime!

During the program we stayed in the most beautiful villa imaginable on a remote mountain close to the schools. There was time each day after the school visit for swimming and relaxing by the the pool. The villa's very own Balinese cooks served us meals twice a day which were divine. A choice of excursions to see more of Bali were included. White water rafting in the jungle was so much fun and we even saw some monkeys on the river bank playing and paddling. We also visited a stunning waterfall where we were able to have a refreshing swim at the bottom. I would recommend this program to any teacher who loves adventure, luxury and helping others.

Through our involvement with the school we witnessed the enthusiasm towards learning by both the teachers and the students of the Philippines. We were treated with such kindness and felt so involved in school life.

For many years I volunteered and taught teachers in Haiti, but due to political unrest I was no longer able to travel and work there. While searching for other opportunities to volunteer I came across Global Teacher’s website – and I’m glad I did.

The Global Teacher program not only provides a wonderful opportunity for professional development, but it is also an excellent way to give back. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience teaching and learning in Lembongan, Bali, Indonesia. Coming from Canada, it was rewarding getting to work alongside colleagues from Australia and Indonesia and working with the keen and respectful students. Excursions during our free time allowed us to take in the Balinese culture and countryside; highlights included visiting beaches, driving up into the mountains, and learning from artisans. Another highlight was simply living in a local community and getting to experience firsthand everyday life in Bali. I highly recommend signing up for one of the programs Global Teacher offers – your teaching practice will be enriched, and your heart will be fulfilled!!!

What an amazing opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of another country and see how teaching and learning occurs in another part of the world. I have made friendships and memories that will last a lifetime and it was only made possible by the vision, dedication and hard work of Global Teacher. The passion, energy and enthusiasm for education by both the teachers and students in Bali is inspiring. I loved spending time at the schools and the teachers were so open and welcoming, allowing me to feel comfortable and learn so much from them. After a busy week in the classroom and a very successful Professional Development day, we were able to relax and unwind doing a range of activities including cruising with dolphins, visiting the most beautiful waterfall, white water rafting and playing with the monkeys at the Monkey Forest. I hope to have many more of these amazing experiences in the future, combining my passion for education, travel and culture.

I have found that after each trip, I have come back to my classroom more fulfilled, refreshed and open minded. When I return home to my classes and my colleagues I have more knowledge, real world experience and passion to share. I can not express in words how valuable this program is to Aussie teachers. The Global Teacher Bali Program provides a unique opportunity to combine travel and teaching, and see a side of Bali that most people would never get to experience. Spending time in the school and seeing the way that teachers taught and interacted with their classes helped to create a tailored professional development session that was meaningful and beneficial to the local teachers. Professional conversations with the Global Teacher team were also very insightful and beneficial to creating a successful PD session. Our accommodation and meals were first class for the entire program. There was plenty of space for working, relaxing, and getting to know our amazing team of Australian teachers who took part in this program. I have made the most wonderful new friendships and professional partnerships with the Global Teacher team and with local Balinese teachers. If I was asked to take this opportunity again, I would do it in a heartbeat. This is a wonderful program that is beneficial to Indonesian teachers and students, and to my own teaching practice.

I recently attended the Global Teacher Philippines Program. Engaging with local schools and teachers was such a rewarding experience. Traveling with fellow teachers who share a passion for learning fostered a wonderfully supportive and enriching environment. It was a truly a unique cultural adventure and was a chance to make a positive impact with multiple opportunities for personal growth. The Professional Development sessions at the end of the school week to local teachers was so much fun. It was great way to share diverse perspectives and teaching methods and to exchange a range of educational practices and ideas. All transport was provided with daily breakfast and most dinners included. After school activities were also provided which ranged from historical tours and swimming with whale sharks! Thank you Global Teacher for getting me out of my teacher comfort zone! My bucket is very full!

I had a most enjoyable trip and experience on the October Phillipines 2026 Global Teacher Experience. All my queries were addressed before travel. During my travel and teaching experiences I had knowledgeable and helpful drivers, tour guides and the most amazing group leader in Clare Rice. Accomodation and cultural experiences were beyond what I had possibly imagined and far exceeded my expectations. The trip was excellent value for its cost. Motels were clean, tidy and of appropriate quality. My school experience was something that will live with me forever. Connecting with local students and teachers gave me a deeper understanding of the culture, and exploring Intramuros was truly special. Beyond the classroom, the itinerary was filled with unforgettable activities — whale shark diving, breathtaking waterfalls, and snorkelling around stunning remote islands. This trip perfectly balanced meaningful professional exchange with cultural immersion and adventure. From the time I applied, to the end of the experience, I was completely reassured by the organisation of the program and was professionally supported the entire way through. We were grateful for the close in-country partnership with Bali Children Foundation and local schools and were humbled by the warm welcome we received in Bali from the local teachers and children. What an amazing experience! The accommodation was first class and allowed us to relax and bond as professionals during our teaching week. The professional development day was an exciting end to the week and we received much positive feedback from the local teachers and all organisations involved. I have a greater appreciation of how many resources we actually have at our finger tips (though often don't realise or acknowledge how privileged we are) and the power of teaching with minimum resources and being flexible. While the local teachers appreciated receiving resources and being encouraged to expand their skills, they too had a lot to offer us. Their ability to be creative and productive, with what many of us might deem as out of date or inadequate, was evident in their enthusiasm and commitment to do their best with what they had. Meeting the children was a highlight. How happy they were with life in general and so excited to see us return each day - it just melted your heart. How I wish children in Australia could see what can be achieved with little, and then I turn learn to be more content with less. Watching the children here play, engage, and be excited to be at school was a joy to see. There is also a lot to be learnt about being flexible, non judgemental, open to change, and not tied to a time schedule or clock/watch. The preparation, communication and direction/guidance of the leadership, pre-trip and while we were there was fantastic. Sheridan and Ilana lead us with confidence, flexibility and inclusively. They, along with Mike, did much behind the scene work, negotiating with departmental officials, local schools, principals and staff with patience and integrity. When Ilana needed to return home due to illness, Sheridan stepped up even more to carry the responsibilities on her own, and was diligent in communicating what needed to be done and when. One cannot ignore that the program also gave time to enjoy many of the delights of the country. We were free to select additional adventures on our own, or with others, depending on who was interested, available and game to totally push yourself outside your comfort zone. As a group, we often chose to do things together, either as a whole group or smaller groups, but for those needing some space for themselves, that was also available. It is my intention to join another team, be it returning to Vanuatu and/or another country. I would highly recommend for all teachers to consider signing up for a Global Teacher experience, so well planned and executed by Mike Stanley and his team of dedicated and well organised leaders.

Like most of us we look for ways we can travel and experience new cultures within our profession . Global Teachers did exactly that for me . A week of co- teaching in a primary school in different classes, engaging with teachers and students in and out of the classrooms. Experiences with their culture and how they learn , teach and play amongst themselves were the best part of the experience. Each accomodation that we were staying at have the best warm welcome and made us a part of a family. The adventures that we took as a group to the waterfalls, the daily debriefs and most of the all the new teacher friends that I have made in this program I will cherish for life ❤️ ♥️ I would definitely recommend anyone to take part of this experience and I would definitely do this again if offered. One of the best professional development programs you can ever undertake. The organisation from start to finish was professional and supportive all the participants to maximise their experiecne while in Vanuatu. I loved my time teaching in Vanuatu with Global Teacher. The program gave me the opportunity to teach and travel and learn a lot about my self- both personally and professionally. The Global Teachers that travelled to Vanuatu with me are an inspiration and so passionate. We had a lot of fun too- it was a great mix of work and holiday. The students and co-teachers were also amazing- I can see why Vanuatu has kept its ranking as one of the happiest places on Earth. My only wish would be to have more time- 10 days is just not enough!

The immersive experience was the right balance of planning, teaching, culture and fun. The people I met, the discussion, collaboration and laughs will stay with me always. I was very impressed with the standard of accommodation, food and the personal service provided by the staff at our villa. We were well and truly looked after. Overall, this program is a remarkable, life-changing and inspiring experience which has reinvigorated me and provided the perfect start to another year.

The structure of this program is excellent; it supports teachers and allows them to explore beyond their capacities to give helping hands to those teachers striving for more skills. I had access to the best Accommodation, transport, food and sightseeing, which were all organised ahead of time, As well as pick up from the airport and drop off. Also, daily debriefing and, most importantly, respect among the team members; it was terrific. I felt like I had known them years ago. Thank you again for this beautiful experience, and I can’t wait to do this again!!
